What a Private Sound Bath Is Really Like

A private sound bath is a one-on-one session, or a session for two, like a couple or close friends. I shape each one around what's going on in someone's life, whether that's grief, stress, anxiety, or trouble sleeping. Unlike a public sound bath, the timing, the space, and the meditation are all tailored to you.

"I Wish We Had Done This a Year Ago"

In New York, a woman who had come to a few of my sound baths at a yoga studio reached out about a private series. Her husband had passed away about a year earlier, and she was still struggling.

After our second session together, the first thing she said was, "I wish we had done this a year ago." She felt so much lighter, and the emotional pain had eased. I was so happy I could help her carry some of it.

That's what a private session is for.

Why Choose a Private Session Over a Public Sound Bath?

Public sound baths are wonderful, but people choose a private session for a few reasons:

  • You want to work on something specific. A private session is personalized to what you're going through, including the guided meditation part.

  • The public schedule doesn't work for you. We set a time around your schedule.

  • You'd rather not be around other people. In a group, someone might snore, shift around, or have their phone go off. Some people find it hard to fully let go with strangers in the room.

  • You want control over the space. The lighting, the temperature, the quiet. A private session lets us set it up the way that helps you relax.

It Starts With a Call

Before every private session, I recommend a short call, about 15 to 20 minutes. It helps me understand what you want to work on.

Maybe you've been through a big life event. Maybe you're grieving, not sleeping, or carrying a lot of anxiety from work. Maybe you just had a baby, lost a partner, or were laid off. Whatever it is, I use what you share to shape the session.

What Happens at a Private Sound Bath

  • Setup: I need about 15 minutes to set up my bowls and prepare the space. I bring my instruments, eye masks, and sage or palo santo.

  • The sound bath: usually 60 minutes, though it can be shorter or longer depending on what you want.

  • Afterward: we talk through how you're feeling, and you take your time coming back. There's never a rush. If you'd like to keep resting quietly for a while, that's always fine.

Where Sessions Take Place

Private sessions take place in a nearby studio or at your home. We'll decide on our call.

All you need is to wear something comfortable. A yoga mat, blankets, or a couch are all fine to lie on, and the eye masks take care of any extra light.

One Session or a Package?

I usually recommend a package. A one-off session skims the surface. It can be great when you need some immediate relief, but a series gives us time to go deeper and really get to the root of what's going on. That's where I see the most change, and it helps you hold on to that calmer, lighter place for longer.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is a private sound bath?
Usually 60 minutes. It can be shorter or longer depending on what you'd like.

Can I book a private session for two?
Yes. Private sessions work well for one person or two, like a couple or close friends.

How is a private sound bath different from a public one?
A private session is personalized to what you're going through, scheduled around you, and free from the distractions of a group, like snoring, movement, or phones.

Where do private sessions take place?
In a nearby studio or at your home, in Lagos or elsewhere in the Algarve. We'll choose the space together on our call.

Is one session enough?
One session can bring immediate relief. For deeper, longer-lasting change, I recommend a package so we can get to the root of what's going on.

Do I need any equipment?
No. I bring the instruments and eye masks.

What if I've never done a sound bath before?
That's completely fine. We'll talk on the call first, so you'll know what to expect before we begin.
