Wellness Activities for a Team Offsite in the Algarve

The Algarve has plenty of wellness options for a team offsite: surfing, kayaking, yoga, pilates, hiking, and spa time. If you want something the whole team can do together, with no fitness level, gear, or change of clothes needed, a corporate sound bath is one of the easiest to add. It can be a 15-minute reset between speakers, a full hour to open or close the day, or a longer team workshop.

I'm a sound healer based in Lagos, and I bring sound baths to teams at hotels and resorts across the Algarve. Before this, I spent 15 years in banking and financial services, so I know what an offsite agenda looks like from the inside.

Why Add a Sound Bath to Your Offsite?

Offsites are full on. There's a lot of networking, and you have to be present and engaging all day. There isn't really any downtime, other than when you go to sleep.

A sound bath gives everyone a real pause. Nobody has to do anything. They sit or lie back, close their eyes, and listen while I play crystal singing bowls. I call it a passive form of mindfulness, which is why it works even for people who say they can't meditate.

Early research is promising. In a study of singing bowl meditation, participants reported less tension, anger, fatigue, and low mood after a single session, and people trying it for the first time saw the biggest drop in tension (Goldsby et al., 2017). So no one on your team needs any experience.

Ways to Fit Sound Into Your Agenda

There are many options to fit a sound healing session into your event, whether you are looking for a quick reset for better focus or longer session to help revitalize the mind after a long day. Some examples of how to fit sound into your event include:

  • A 15-minute reset between speakers. Great for conferences with a full lineup. A short break that helps people refocus for the next session.

  • A morning session. A calm start before a big strategy day.

  • After lunch. Helps people feel refreshed for the afternoon instead of fighting the post-lunch slump.

  • A closing session. A full hour to end the day or the offsite on a calm note.

  • A team workshop. A longer session for team building, with more time to settle in.

Where It Happens and What You Need

Most corporate sound baths happen right at your hotel or resort, in a conference room or boardroom. If the venue has outdoor space, that can work beautifully too.

Nobody needs to change. Your team can come as they are, in business or casual clothes, and sit in their chairs. For a longer session, I recommend yoga mats so people can lie down.

I can source everything the session needs, including mats. I can also put together branded gifts for attendees if you'd like something for people to take home.

Group size depends on the venue and on whether people are sitting or lying down. We'll work that out together on our call.

Teams I've Worked With

I've led sound baths for teams at Deloitte, EY, and Madison Square Garden Entertainment, including a sound bath for the Rockettes in the lobby of Radio City Music Hall!

Here's what a few people said afterward:

"I heard from several participants how this was one of the best events they ever attended and how much they REALLY enjoyed it." Rachel L.

"Thank you so much! When can we do it again?" Natalia G.

"I hired Katie do a corporate event for my company and it was a huge hit amongst our staff." Taylor F.

Is It Right for Everyone?

For most people, yes. A few people should check with their doctor first, including anyone who is pregnant, has a pacemaker, has epilepsy, or is very sensitive to sound. Anyone can step out at any time. I go into more detail in who shouldn't do a sound bath.

How to Book a Corporate Sound Bath in the Algarve

Every event is different, so we start with a call. I'll ask about your team, your agenda, and the venue, and what you'd like people to walk away feeling. Then I'll put together a session that fits.
